About this project
A little clarity in a pressured moment.
Scambaba is an independent educational project that helps people recognize common scam warning signs and think through safer next steps. The name is a memorable label; it does not mean this site represents a government agency, bank, police service, or consumer-protection organization.
Our aim is simple: make practical information easier to understand and encourage people to verify unexpected requests through trusted, independent channels.
What this site can do
- Explain patterns that often appear in scam attempts.
- Suggest general steps to limit further harm.
- Link to official sources for deeper or location-specific help.
What this site cannot do
- Confirm whether a particular message, person, or transaction is genuine.
- Investigate a case, contact a bank for you, or recover money.
- Replace qualified legal, financial, cybersecurity, or emergency support.
If money or account access is at risk, contact the relevant bank, payment service, or platform promptly using contact details you find independently. If you are in immediate danger, contact local emergency services.
